Some of it depends on who your father was and how he treated your family, especially your mom. Mine was a narcissist, so I had to learn I COULD walk away. Then I could learn how to do it.

I think the hard part is untangling oneself *after* coming to the realization of "this isn't how I want to be loved." especially if it's taken a bit to realize that.

It's the "moving on" that's hard and I think it's *really* hard for us to believe we might be someone's dream girl.

And that really sucks. 🙁

@alipunk ummm, it's okay, of it's time some would say.

Anyway, to my point.

There are two characters, a guy in a wheelchair and his carer called Lou and Andy, your brain is the carer, doing it's best to look after your heart, and your heart is sat there going "Want that one"

Works better if you've seen it but *shrugs* best analogy I can think of
