Fresh raspberries encased in raspberry jelly with bits of cake fingers and sweet sherry.
On top of that, custard.
Above that, freshly whipped cream and "sprinkles".
The small bowl is identical, but Southern UK people don't have the jelly in the bottom layer, so it goes all mushy!

@NormanDunbar Sherry seems to be a preferred addition, but an adequate whisky blend adds that wee something for breakfast 🥳

I was working in Newcastle building an oil & gas platform. Before nightshift I’d frequent an excellent pub for dinner. The cook came out & asked if I’d like to sample his 1st attempt at trifle. It was great. He informed me there was a half bottle of whisky in it!
@Wen We have a sweet sherry in ours. This year anyway.

I'm likely to be busy most of the day, as there are a large number of presents to open and we are yet to have breakfast, never mind the gap needed for lunch.

Sounds nice, a walk by the sea would be nice.
We had dinner out, got back, kids played with the stuff they had this morning. Then unwrapped all the remaining presents which were mostly the ones from us.
I now have a robot lawnmower 😁
Busy looking for supporting software and hardware hacks, as you do.

@Steampunk_Prof Does your robot have GPS to know where your boundaries are? A neighbour has one, a Husquvarna. He had to set up ropes to get it to learn where it had to stop trimming. Newer models use GPS it seems.
Trifle is indeed as good as it looked. I've had three bowls today and still half remains.

@NormanDunbar Ooh I'm a bit puzzled at the idea of trifle without jelly. Is that not then just a bowl of cream with sponge fingers at the bottom?
