@eff Oh yeah, I forgot that y’all shill super hard for for AI on this front, claiming all the mass scraping by computers is “fair use”. I will continue refusing to donate to y’all until you actually give a crap about real artists.

If fair use protects learning, why can meta torrent the entirety of zlib to train it's AI, but I can't torrent even a single book to train myself?

does fair use protect compression algorithms? because most LLMs are functioning as lossy (lousy) compression.
