DAY SEVEN of #Jamuary26. Was still very angry today, but I did anger yesterday. So today I did sadness. https://youtu.be/NJt1lQpl4pQ
DAY EIGHT of #Jamuary26. This one ended up being far more whimsical than the last few days, which was a welcome distraction. Once I started manipulating the samples from a 40 year-old tape my dad recorded, I couldn't help but have fun. https://youtu.be/ymzHDxsPVfI
DAY NINE of #Jamuary26 is a little late because a goddamn plugin crashed and it was hell trying to get that track exported, but rest assured, everything was actually written and recorded before midnight. One of those tracks just had to be re-recorded. Several fucking times. https://youtu.be/lv1Ftdp1nEU
DAY TEN of #Jamuary26. The delineations of electronic genres are lost on me, but let's call this some kind of... techno exploration. Of course, you could always call it #Bonkwave. https://youtu.be/5i7BBDxOEss
@Traiken oooh, the harmony at the very end is so cool.
@sknob Thank you! It's one of those things that I kinda want to put across the entire track, but it's way more impactful to save for the end
@Traiken it’s over too quickly, but, yes, maximum impact!
@sknob It actually just hit me why I think it works so well: in the chorus, I change the key (or just disregard it), and the first chord is Bm, but the first chorus is power chords, so only the augmented and diminished chords get enunciated. In the last chorus, there’s a G that I decided to make minor, and so the Bb in that chord is really striking in the context of the part opening on a Bm.
