I tried installing Linux Mint tonight but ran into some roadblocks. It was easy when installing to a virtual machine, but I'm trying to install to physical hardware (a laptop) this time.

I got past a few hurdles, but not all.

I'm try again soon... 🐧

I'm finally making progress.

I tried creating a bootable device via the "disks" (Linux) utility and also from the command line. But I just couldn't get it right. It was all pretty frustrating--it's a pretty simple task, right? Why did it not work? 🤔

I ended up using balenaEtcher to make the bootable device. A USB stick got pretty deep into the install process but ultimately failed. Now I'm trying with an SD card. Fingers crossed.

Getting situated with Linux Mint.
✅ LibreWolf installed (with Ghostery extension)
✅ Pinta installed (and I figured out how to get rid of the awful hamburger menu 🙂 )
✅ Libre Office -- already installed! 😎

I'm running ver 22.3 with Cinnamon desktop on a Dell Latitude laptop.
