The health of prisoner of conscience Dr. Ali Abdel Aziz has worsened due to a serious pancreatic tumour that urgently requires medical intervention. Despite a clear medical recommendation for an immediate diagnostic endoscopy and his transfer to a specialised hospital, he remains denied the necessary examination and treatment.

Security forces detained Abdel Aziz at Cairo International Airport on 1 January 2024 during his return to Egypt for a holiday. He was then forcibly disappeared at a National Security headquarters until he appeared before the Supreme State Security Prosecution on 8 January 2025.
