Analysts at trading platform IG said investors were questioning their commitment to the pillars that had underpinned markets over the past six months, including artificial intelligence, crypto and precious metals. This led to “a session of pure carnage overnight” and a “sell everything” mentality that “raises the odds of a deeper unwind”.
