@firesidefedi Sure. Wait, do you like lisp?

@screwlisp@gamerplus.org idk if I've had the pleasure of trying it to form an opinion.
@firesidefedi it would be interesting for all of us to hear from someone recently trying common lisp, and your experiences and insights doing so would be very welcome on either the Sunday-morning-in-Europe or Tuesday-evening-in-the-Americas shows.
Distributing software in modern lisp is a bit of a topic, probably not least because lisp and currently popular software like maxima are older than unix. Though quicklisp is common (similar in some ways to npm or pip), or debian packages etc as well.
@firesidefedi @box464 Yes could be interesting this idea of developers. We could even think of something regarding accessibility in the future
@firesidefedi ... you'd have to work on the name.
@andypiper@macaw.social womm.live or Works On My Machine .live. Also have Debug & Debrief .live. But I think womm is pretty good IMO. 😁
@firesidefedi Sounds interesting.
Title suggestions: "Works on my machine"...or something long those lines
@lqdev@toot.lqdev.tech I bought debugdebrief.live and I think yours is better I got worksonmymachine.live and womm.live.
@firesidefedi I like womm.live. Not only because it's short but also sounds like the call sign / initials for a radio station. WOMM
@firesidefedi@btfree.social Fireside FedDevs. I'd be interested, especially if they had desktop-Linux apps.
@firesidefedi Okay that sounds freakin' funny and cool.
It's a good premise with plenty of comedy potential, but I bet we could learn something along the way.
If you're looking for a show title I'll suggest this one:
"Moron installs software in front of developer."
(I of course mean "moron" in an endearing sense, i.e. "non-expert")
@calvin@fedi.sphericalcow.space lol similar to idiot's guides.
@firesidefedi oh ya right! Like "Software Installation for Dummies ™️ " or whatever, haha.
Love it... Let them see how a real person uses something they think is so easy. I remember a product designer/mentor telling me that he lets his kids play with his design concepts in order to see how easily they can be broken.
@firesidefedi it would be awesome doing that while following their docs in front of them, so they can see someone installing in real time and fill in the bits they gloss over!
@nigel@unsociable.lowkey.party Yes! I just did something like this yesterday:
tubefree.org/w/7dWK9RQqdkFq5...
I had a blast, the dev got to see how I might mess it up or what I was expecting from it, people in chat seemed to enjoy it.
@firesidefedi oooh excellent!
