@IU1KGS
I was taught that man-made noise / electrical noise was QRN but interference from other radio stations was QRM
Is that not current usage?
Am I out of date?
@MikeFromLFE @IU1KGS a misconception perhaps? I'm not sure that's ever been "current" usage, QRM was always RF interference from any man made source in every text or training I've had. RSGB and other trainers are far from infallible so maybe it was theirs?

Interesting thought - thanks.
I might have to go back to the original source material (next time I'm in the loft!)
@MikeFromLFE @ClintJayIO83 in Italian SWLing circles I often encountered QRN used for noise of any origin.
@MikeFromLFE @ClintJayIO83 @IU1KGS my 1940 radio handbook lists QRN as natural noise, so I think it has been that way for a long time. I have seen both confused in SWL circles before though, in different ways.
