Reminiscent of resistance graffiti against the Nazis in the Second World War.

Old grainy photograph of a road in occupied Norway during the Second World War, showing a large chalk V and below it the Morse code for V. These kinds of V marks were used by the resistance all across the occupied continent as a sign of defiance against the Nazi occupation forces.

Ohhhh is this part of why they suddenly care about rainbow crossings and BLM murals? Because they know how annoying this was for Nazis?

I don't know how historically literate the MAGA people are, but chalking a "V for victory" sign was a way for the resistance to freak the Nazis out. Everyone saw it but it was difficult for the Nazis to stop it or know who did it.

Another one was if a Nazi entered a crowded bar, someone would tap V in morse code under the table and the Nazi didn't know who it was. That's why there's the morse code under the chalk V.
