i know that. that's how i posted it to #Mastodon. but doesn't it feel like platforms on the #Fediverse should support other platforms here before giving priority to the very tech oligarchs we are trying to escape?

oh, this is interesting. #Loops only handles up to 40mb. i was informed it could take up to 80, & it will compress it. but when i uploaded a 78mb file, then this 42mb file, they both failed as too big. but it looks like this uploaded to #Mastodon just fine💙

TIL a weird lesson. If you use API calls to repost from Mastodon to other services with an API key, it will also pull your private "DMs" (since those are just restricted posts).
Oops.
Time to think of a fix for that one.
