After a dry spell I'm finally booked for enough work to need #OrgMode and #OrgAgenda again to keep track, and when I opened Agenda again for the first time since mid-2025 things were obviously A Mess. 💫 Some to-do items had been rescheduled almost 200 times, untracked habits lay forgotten and dying. It took < 5 minutes to clear or triage though, and Agenda became usable again with the peace of mind that work tasks won't slip through the cracks.

Honestly the Org Mode/Agenda system fills the niche of a Bullet Journal (which I also tried for a few years) for me in being easy to come back to after I inevitably drop off from time to time. And that's a good thing, not only because I get to have an organization system even after being away for a while, but because there are stretches of life when a system genuinely isn't necessary and may do more harm than good. Is anybody aware of an existing word in English or any other language for the intense pain of being misunderstood?

We're thinking specifically about the kinda of pain that neurospicy folks often feel from being constantly misunderstood by others, but particularly by non-neurospicy folks.

It's usually a cumulative pain that builds up over years or even decades, and factors into neurodivergent experiences like Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD)

The 5 Levels of Neurodivergent Overstimulation

The "Background Hum" (Irritability):

• The Vibe: You're fine, but you're not fine.

• The Trigger: A light is too bright, or there are two different sources of audio playing (e.g., the TV is on and someone is playing a TikTok out loud).

• The Symptom: You start getting "short" with people for no reason.

The "Statistically Impossible" noise (Focus Loss):

• The Vibe: Your brain stops processing

• The Trigger: Someone is tapping a pen or whispering while you're trying to read.

• The Symptom: You have to read the same sentence 10 times because the "noise" is taking up all the RAM in your brain.

"T-Rex Arms" & Stimming

(The Shutdown):

• The Vibe: You stop moving "normally."

• The Trigger: Too many people asking you questions at once.

• The Symptom: Your hands go into "raptor" position, you start rocking, or you go completely silent because speaking feels like it requires altogether too
much energy.

The "Texture Trauma" (Physical Discomfort):

• The Vibe: Your skin feels "too tight."

• The Trigger: You suddenly become aware of your waistband, your hair touching your neck, or your socks being slightly damp/twisted.

• The Symptom: You have to change your clothes immediately or you will lose your mind.

The "Total System Error" (The Meltdown/ Burnout):

• The Vibe: The world needs to end for 20 minutes.

• The Trigger: One final, tiny thing like dropping a fork or a door slamming.

The Symptom: You need a dark room, noise- canceling headphones, and zero human contact for the next 3 to 5 business days.

Got a new phone, 99% the same as my old one, spent 2 days messing with settings, deleting bloat, installing apps and getting the way I like it. I put the damn SIM card in and the homescreen goes apeshit on me. Spent almost 1.5 hours and ended up having to reset all settings now my keyboard is flashing all over the place and everything's not right and either my #ADHD or my #Autism is freaking out and screaming

A sidenote:

Modern digital media are the enemy of us ADHD'ers. If non-ADHD'ers are tired of articles being split up by unrelated articles and adds all the time, then think of how it feels to both be interrupting yourself with ideas, things you forgot, plans you have etc... all the time AND being interrupted by the media you use.

Yup. That's life for many ADHD'ers and since many of us are impulsive too, there is a good change to de-rail us and notch us into something different.

Sometimes people use "respect" to mean "treating someone like a person" and sometimes they use "respect"' to mean "treating someone like an authority" and sometimes people who are used to being treated like an authority say "if you won't respect me I won't respect you" and they mean "if you won't treat me like an authority, I won't treat you like a person."

And they think they're being fair but they aren't, and it's not okay.
