"The forest, known as the Grandbois Lakes forest, is located near Sainte-Thècle, in the Mékinac Regional County Municipality, northeast of Shawinigan. Composed largely of red spruce trees, the ecosystem is considered one of the last intact forests of its kind in southern Quebec."

Because there’s a contingent of loonies in #Alberta who believe the rest of #canada is mean to them, the courts have allowed them to ask for a referendum on leaving the country - presumably so they can be North Texas - providing they get enough signatures.
If they think anything about living in an independent land-locked ‘state’ is going to make it easier to deal with trade or fairness, they’re wrong.
And historically, #britishcolumbia and #newfoundland have greater claims to independence.
