Tried tackling the grumpy and sunshine trope but I keep making my grumpy hero two grumpy, so much so that even I hate him as an author. How do others keep the balance? Nothing I am doing regarding this trope seems natural. It feels like I’m swinging a hammer way too far to the left, and then when I try and correct it, it goes way too far the other way. Are there like romance writing exercises you did to help you flush out these tropes? #AmWriting #Romance #RomanceLandia

I call it the “valley effect” or “city effect” the fact that it’s often clear here, but in the mountains a short distance away, it’s drastically different.

Thus, when I hike nearby, the weather is continually changing, my pictures seemingly different days.

My last hike was longer and higher, but I also took my pack and poles. It was like old times.

“He isn’t dangerous. He wears a muzzle because he eats poop. It’s embarrassing.” A woman referencing her black lab.

I can attest, he was friendly.

A great hike yesterday, the skies ever changing. The distant view shows home on the extreme right.

Continuing to pitch His Lordship's Landscape, a Romantic comedy retelling of Dracula and how he steals Jonathan's shaving kit because he wants to see what Jonathan looks like with a beard. The pitching process is reminding me how tedious the pitching process is. I get it, this is to cut down on slush, but at least make it easier for authors like me to learn more about your distribution avenues, POD offerings, audiobook offerings, if any. I shouldn't have to look up your publisher on Audible to find audiobooks you've published, after all. #Publishing #AmPitching #AmWriting

I’m reading a book, an actual book with pages. It’s a nice feeling knowing that I’m reading it alone, that there isn’t someone else on the other end of a connection monitoring my progress.

The trail is calling, and so I must go. Who knows where I’ll end up.
