I knew middle click pasted, but just learned what it pasted.

Since making the move to Linux in '16, everyonce in awhile was getting what I thought was odd behavior by using middle click so I moved purely ctl-v.

Come to find out highlighting with no copy command plus middle click paste will paste what is highlighted.

I personally find that cursed behavior, but I can see how its useful to reduce total overall actions.

Today I learned.

@ozzelot @tehrealgh5tbusters

Having a good time with #FreeBSD and #sway (wayland tiling compositor) on my thinkpad X260.

As long as you read the pertinent sections of the docs, it's quite easy to get going on a Thinkpad. Some things I haven't figured out yet, like routing audio through the headphone jack on this hardware, or bluetooth anything.

If you set your expectations to roughly 1999-era Linux, it's an absolute blast, and daily-driveable (again depending on your expectations).

I'd never try running Steam, though. That's masochistic. XD

Going back to sway for now

I still have one issue with niri that I have not been able to track down. It will randomly sleep (monitor off, wifi off) mere seconds (or minutes) after idle. It happened 3 times within 5 minutes with the last time freezing up the display resulting in a reboot.

I have a feeling that there is something niri isn’t implementing for non-systemd systems that causes this.

Note this is in addition to my now working swayidle/swaylock-plugin configuration in niri.

So I had to go back to sway.

Going back to sway for now
