Just a note for some of the other #MastoAdmin 's out there - On Universeodon.com we've seen a huge number of reports for an account due to it being a new account with no posts and a very large follower / following count.

As far as I can currently see and based on the info provided when they requested an account it's migrating from another instance. As far as I can see the account is in fact legitimate but we will keep an eye as I appreciate it is "Weird" having a 0 post account with thousands of followers / following relationships all of a sudden.

If anyone does see anything weird with any of the accounts on the instances please do report it as it is appreciated. I can't directly reply to these reports so didn't want folks to think it had been entirely ignored!

Una usuaria publicó generalizaciones que consideré ofensivas sobre personas informáticas / “linuxeros”.

Respondí algo muy simple: la informática no es solo cosa de hombres; también hay mujeres en tech.

Esa respuesta se interpretó como “transfobia”.

Además, la denuncia vino de una persona ajena a la conversación original.

Intenté explicar el malentendido.

La respuesta fue un bloqueo, sin diálogo ni contraste.

El problema no es solo este caso.

Si nombrar a mujeres en informática puede considerarse transfobia, cualquiera puede verse señalado por cualquier cosa.

No pido que nadie bloquee nada.

Solo que se tenga en cuenta a la hora de federar o interactuar con esta instancia.

La moderación seria necesita contexto, escucha y proporcionalidad.

No reflejos automáticos.

We're going ahead and adding `miniwa.moe` to our list of suspended servers across #MastodonAppUK #Universeodon and #MedMastodon as there appears to be no active moderation taking place and reports of transphobic behaviour have been ignored by their moderators.

I'm not expecting this to impact the vast majority of folks across our instances but you might see a follower / following drop by 1 or 2.

Not if that door is what is connecting two entire communities. That door should be reinforced and widened so those two communities can't shut it.

Ah yes the "you can start your own instance if you have a problem with my blacklist blackballing you". Which works fine until you realize one of the biggest reasons why instances get added to #fediblock is for "federating with the usual suspects" and "being from some other instance that is on the blacklist". Nevermind the fact that most people who you are cutting off from communicating with eachother don't have the technical, financial or other wherewithal to run their own instance. You're just sending them back to facebook/bluesky/truthsocial/whatever

I'm not advocating for any servers(though If you'd like I'll advocate for SPW, which is blocked by a good chunk of the people who take people like you seriously). I'm advocating against censorship and prejudice against people who are part of servers *before they even attempt to communicate*.
