Die Menschen in Dänemark sind aktuell wohl ziemlich sauer auf Trump/USA und kaufen möglichst europäisch. (Geschäfte machen auch mit und markieren europäische Produkte mit einem Stern.)
Kommt so eine Bewegung jetzt auch nach Deutschland. Oder sind wir noch nicht sauer genug? 😅😎🏳️🌈

W Social wants to compete with Twitter
A new social network should make Europe more independent. In the leading role: Anna Zeiter from Zurich.
"(...) Now Zurich resident Anna Zeiter (46) is taking a career step – with potentially geopolitical consequences: Zeiter is to build a European response on X, formerly Twitter. Another step in the effort to take Europe at least a little bit out of technological dependence on the USA. (...)
Zeiter describes the new network as a «better version of Twitter»: «Positive, respectful communication should be promoted.» Users must therefore identify themselves as human beings. In this way, fake accounts are prevented and bots that serve as multipliers of fake news or propaganda are excluded. W Social also wants the filter bubble problem address: If desired, a certain number of posts for each user should come specifically from a different opinion bubble. All data is hosted decentrally in Europe by European companies. And of course, W Social is subject to strict EU data protection laws. The beta version is scheduled to go live by February at the latest, and W plans to open up to the general public at the end of the year."

Is there some technical reason why followers only posts that mention another account couldn't be made visible to followers of the poster + followers of anyone mentioned, instead of the current situation where they're visible to followers of the poster and only the mentioned person? That does seem to me to be a technical fix that would instantly make a lot of hidden abuse visible and easier to eradicate but is there something I'm missing about why that would be a bad idea?
It's obviously always been important to tackle technical issues facilitating abuse on here, but with the likely future influx of people from the US now BlueSky is supporting ICE and from the EU with the move to switch from US to #EuropeanAlternatives, making sure they're safe when they get here is getting even more urgent
