Now that lighting is very cheap thanks to LED lighting, why do we have big windows or lots of windows in our houses and our apartments in northern latitudes?
It doesn't make any sense since it increases heating and cooling costs significantly around the year. Having a nice view of your yard really isn't worth the increased energy use.
If you want to see your yard or garden, walk out of the door to see them.
