Most no longer even understand that media like websites or podcasts being decentralized, is fundamentally different than a service like YouTube giving you an account, right? We've gotta find a way to tell that story once again if we want people to be excited about #mastodon, #ghost, #pixelfed, #peertube, #owncast etc.

Interesting. That then lead me to question comparing @wordpress with #Ghost as why wouldn't a self hosted wordpress work in a similar way.
I mean I can't see why Ghost is particularly better still. Wordpress with Fediverse plugins is kinda similar, and more control. Just musing to myself here... unless you know.
I think the "feed" and the "algorithm" are why people go to the SubStack world... maybe? not sure.
