Ways To Watch The Indie Beat Television

TIBtv uses Owncast to broadcast a 24/7 stream of music videos from consenting artists of the fediverse.

One of the best ways to watch is on the official TIBtv site because you can watch in almost any browser on almost any platform, whether desktop or mobile, and when the chat is open, you’ll be able to chat with people about what you are watching. We plan to open the chat regularly so artists and fans can meet up and…chat. No barriers here!

The stream will also be available to watch right here in the VIDEO box on the NHAM home page!

But you may want to watch in other ways. Specifically, you may want to watch these videos in big beautiful HD on your living room TV, and there are many ways to do that!

First, if you have a Roku device such as a Roku set top box, Roku TV, or streaming stick, then The Indie Beat has a Roku app for you which supports all of the The Indie Beat Radio channels and the TV and Live video channels as well. To install the Roku app, you can search “The Indie Beat” on your device or use this link to install it from your Roku account online.

Also on Roku, there is an official Owncast app that features not only The Indie Beat, but all other Owncast channels that have opted in to discovery via the Owncast directory.

The Owncast app supports favorites and even lets you input unlisted streams manually. And by the way, you can browse the Owncast directory, where you’ll often find LABR ( @labr), Fireside Fedi (@firesidefedi@social.firesidefedi.live), RetroStrange TV ( @rstv), Gravitons ( @strim) and other Fedi adjacent artists and streamers streaming!

The Owncast site has a page detailing other ways to watch Owncast on your TV, that includes info on Chromecast, Apple TV, Airplay, VLC for FireTV, Google TV, Kodi, LG and Samsung TVs.
