I finished my quilt! It took over six months and is entirely hand sewn from scraps and remnants. The backing is a pale blue duvet cover (I think, it was a weird bit of thrift store fabric) and the 'batting' is an old, stained cotton sofa covering. I embroidered it with a crocheted doily from the thrift store.

Detail of the quilt in the other image, showing pathetic patches in different fabrics, among others a dark blue with colourful pinstripes, a green jungle print, a green and yellow plaid, light fabric with road of grey and orange dots, and red with gold flowers. The running stitches ruin in long parallel lines, spiralling in from the edge and in this detail the go around the corner at a right angle.
A double bed covered by a big colourful quilt. It's made from dozens of rectangular pieces of fabric in all kinds of colours and patterns sewn with white running stitch. Small patches in single colours are sprinkled about it, and in the centre a vaguely diamond shaped doily of white crochet lace is attached. It's messy and chaotic but nice and cheerful.
