Going after penguin random House because they are not pro Trump

ad astra | books & advocacy on Instagram: "Last week, a law firm founded by Stephen Miller filed a civil rights complaint against Penguin Random House, the largest traditional publisher in the U.S. and the publisher investing the most resources to fight book bans. The complaint follows Trump’s own “defamation” lawsuit against the company for its publication of Lucky Loser.

There is no “coincidence” in the administration’s targeting of PRH. Whether taking visas away from students protesting in support of Palestinian freedom, enacting social media searches on anyone who enters the U.S., altering history lessons to ensure “children don’t feel bad,” or suggesting that a library is a symbol of “government speech,” all of these actions are ones of fascism. All of them enable our government to write the past, present, and future they desire: one that benefits the few and the privileged at the expense of all else.

PRH is not a “perfect” company, but it is the one with the most resources to fight censorship. Especially as companies continue to capitulate to the administration, all of us readers can make our appreciation for their actions clear.
