What is the state of the network, as regards migrating an FQDN from one software to another, or migrating a server to a different FQDN? Is one of Mastodon or GoToSocial better at the feat?

I'm still torn about GtS vs. normal Mastodon, and you need to manage something before you really understand the experience of it. Ideally, I'd like to run instances at gts.mydomain.net and mastodon.mydomain.net, doing exactly the same posts and follows, and see the difference. And when I settle on one, just have it become the @mydomain.net server.

Feasible to just migrate, or will I need to spin up a fresh server when I finally make the choice, no matter what?
