I wish my esteemed co-workers would understand one thing:
As a software developer, I'm not averse to #automation on the job:
Automation on my terms.
Now they're being told "genAI" is just more of the same.
But that's a fallacy.
Because it's (faux) automation on the terms of the bosses.
So the (unabashedly top-down!) introduction of "ai assistants" isn't in the tradition of a quest for more efficient tooling at all.
It's the polar opposite.
It aims squarely to reduce your leverage and your skillset, and therefore your wages and working conditions.
BT Free is a non-profit organization founded by @ozoned@btfree.social . It's goal is for digital privacy rights, advocacy and consulting. This goal will be attained by hosting open platforms to allow others to seamlessly join the Fediverse on moderated instances or by helping others join the Fediverse.
