I wish it was 100%, then I wouldn't have to hear people whining about how disgusting pineapples are on pizza all the time (it literally tastes fine, if you think it's an inherently disgusting combo it's probably cus your local pizza restaurant is doing it wrong. Also here in Sweden we've moved on to banana-curry pizza, pineapple barely register as blasphemous anymore.)

@craignicol @Binder That sounds amazing, I'm a big fan of cracking a raw egg over the pizza before baking it and then have the egg get fried in the oven alongside the pizza.
(Obviously, you don't HAVE to like pineapple on pizza, it's a matter of taste, but it is treated as less of a preference and more like a culinary sin. The combination of sweet and savoury is really good once you get past the cultural hangup around it, trust me on this one.)
@Owlor I've been open to give it a try since I like pineapple a lot, but I haven't had an opportunity yet where it was offered to me without ham (which I know I don't like whether or not it's a pizza topping).
@Owlor There are two problems with pineapple on pizza: 1. The acidic nature of the tomatoes is overpowered with the additional acid from the pineapple. So you should make it without tomatoes, really. 2. The way that people call it 'Hawaiian pizza', when it was invented by a Canadian in America, who only called it that because he associated Hawaii with pineapples. There is also a problem with those who see it as a sin, I agree, but that is just stupid, as all recipes are made-up.
@UkeleleEric Yeah, that's more or less what I mean by pizza places doing it wrong. You need to have the pineapple in small chunks and go light on the tomato sauce (and heavy on the cheese) . Also it can help to fry the pineapple before putting it on the pizza.
