i removed all 32GB RAM options from our shop for now because of the chip shortage. everyone that ordered it will still get it though! that includes people who bought MNT Reform Next and RCORE on Crowd Supply. Firefly (and others) tell us that they can't get the 32GB chips at the moment. your stuff is now officially rare and sought after! 16GB is now the remaining option. i'm looking into introducing 8GB options but don't have updated prices yet.

@mntmn Glad I popped for the expensive RCORE while it was available.

@mntmn seems like it's becoming more and more urgent to get those orders if wanting something with enough RAM to last longer and reasonable price...

@mntmn
I always ask these cool full stack kids if they run their ci/cd locally. It speeds up development: do change in distributed system, and see it run in couple of minutes. E2E testing of distributed whatever. Note: if ain't doing it in 2025, you haven't done your homework.
From this perspective, it starts to feel that Big Tech is ensuring independent devs must use cloud, as 32gb is useful in ci-ing several things, testing network setups, besides code.

I am one of those folks that ordered recently. If you need to raise the price to cover the cost, please let me know. I won't mind (within some reason of course) and I don't want the company to incur additional cost out of pocket.

i think we'll have to downgrade future offers of 32GB SKUs (and probably 2TB NVMe versions) at @crowdsupply but it's the holidays and these changes involve complicated bureaucracy and we don't have a mechanism to quickly change things there. just in case you're wondering why they're still being offered now. (cc @bnys). AFAIK we have enough buffers for not having to rush this.
