I’m all here for this current trend with chinese-designed gadgets of clear plastic enclosures. This particular example I was able to pick up at a regular electronics retailer over here, and it’s sooo pretty 🤩

Black FR-4 with ENIG under clear solder mask fucking slaps!

a palm sized “5000 mAh” qi wireless charging power bank with magsafe. the thing has an aluminium bottom case with the top of the case above the coil, magnets and main PCB being made from clear plastic. You can see all the insides, and they went to the effort of adding decorative but functional looking traces to the PCB. The PCB uses a black substrate material with clear solder mask, and gold plating under the solder mask.

You can clearly tell here the designers told the PCB people to add some decorative traces instead of winging it themselves, because if you look close all (most) of these decorative traces actually look reasonable from an electronics engineering POV.
