We have way too many body/sexual taboo's. I grew up where there were "nude" beaches so I didn't see mine or anyone else's body as a problem. I mean like everybody's got one. . . .

@alice It's a strange concept. Aside from whole sex work discussion. That you can actually get arrested for walking outside of your home naked. The way you were born.
Here is my theory. The clothing people got with Congress in effort to make more of their product and profit passed a law where you need to wear clothes. It only makes sense. Damn consumerism.

@alice one thing NZ and most of Australia gets right. I was so proud of my state for passing decrim a few years back.

@alice I was raised on some strict appalachian, catholic, born-before-the-depression attitudes, and it's always a weird contrast to me that in my 30s, I can remember my mamaw saying, "You damn fools, how do you think you got this artwork?!" to sentiments of "traditional" attitudes nowadays

@alice It’s even worse in Sweden. We have the Scandinavian Model here (buying sexual services is a crime, and sex work is automatically considered exploitation), and because of the consensus-seeking nature of Jante Law society, everybody agrees that this is right, including leftists, liberals and sex workers. (There’s a similar, though perhaps slightly weaker, consensus on Nixonian zero-tolerance drug laws.)
