some guy decided you shouldn鈥檛 have a home. he wants claim to your lawn and garden and door, walls, roof, kitchen, bed clothes; even your wife and kids and pets.
he hires goons to assault you & your family in the middle of the night, with the promise of letting them loot your family heirlooms. he tells them he decided you don鈥檛 have a right to self-defense; that you鈥檒l just roll over and die.

@blogdiva If you said spouse instead of wife, this could be applicable to a lot more people and not make some people feel dehumanized and commodified or at least subordinated. (I know you are a woman yourself and don't mean to be sexist, but when we address things to a presumed universal heterosexual male, it unwittingly upholds patriarchal understanding of the world.)
