January 6th still asks something of us. Five years ago, I was one of millions who watched, horrified, as insurgents swarmed our seat of power. For white Americans especially, healing means accountability and facing the gap between our Constitutional ideals and reality. Systems change when people show up differently: boots on the ground, whistles in neighborhoods, votes in Congress. We can鈥檛 rewrite the past, but we can shape the future together.
