Since 2020, when I started seriously reading & studying Marx, I’ve been a communist deep down. For years I hid it behind ‘moderate’ politics, trying to play it safe, fit in, avoid the heat. But those half-measures never stuck; they always felt empty.
This year’s one real resolution: drop the mask, ditch the moderate bullshit, take the gloves off.

I probably would be a communist if I ever could get through Marx's writings. I think I need a study guide or something. I am definitely not a Stalinist however. The truth must always remain the truth, not be defined by another person. I have managed to get through Rosa Luxemburg's writings, but they are more like minor revisions to Marx I don't know the underlying math.
I get you on the math, Capital can feel heavy. If you’re into Luxemburg and avoiding Stalinism, you might like the Trotskyist tradition: it’s all about “truth over dogma,” international solidarity, and no top-down bureaucracy. You don’t need calculus to see the class struggle! Reading Lenin and Trotsky helped me really connect with Marx’s work.
I volunteered for my local Democratic Party, voted in elections I knew would suppress my values either way. I voted for Harris despite despising her. Why? Because I see the way communists get treated by MAGAt Republicans and “Vote Blue No Matter Who” Democrats.
I am done hiding. I will engage in civil discourse, but the moment someone engages with me in a hostile manner, I will drop the conversation.
