An #introduction of sorts.
This is my third (I think) attempt at joining Mastodon. I'm hoping it sticks for me this time, although I'm not sure yet what I'm actually going to use this account for. I have cats (one of whom is making it difficult to type this) and I'm trying to grow a garden, so maybe there will be pictures. Or maybe I just end up shouting into the void about whatever thoughts are stuck in my head. We'll see.

@thegarbagebird we moved house a few months ago, which has limited our options for this growing season (Australian summer). Right now it's a potted garden, with the aim of getting some beds set up and fruit trees planted in time for next spring.
Still, it's amazing how much you can do with pots and a couple of thrown-together raised beds on a concrete pad!
@nottoday @thegarbagebird are the pots cat-resistant? or is your cat considerate around potted plants?
@masp Our current cats are mostly uninterested in the pots. We do have one that likes to eat leafy greens, but so far he hasn't taken much interest in the potted spinach and silverbeet.
A previous cat, on the other hand, was determined to use a plant pot for her bed. The aloe vera did not survive. Thankfully that the current kitties are kinder to my plants!

You can do anything you feel like. My recommendation if others haven鈥檛 poured the same ones at you already is to remember to follow people who say things you are interested in and be sure to boost things you think other people would enjoy or think is important.
On this platform, people are the algorithm. This is why boosting is an essential ingredient.
The people you follow will fill up your timeline, and the things they boost will also fill up your timeline.
