@susankayequinn You…might want to reconsider featuring Richard Powers. While his science and and sense of wonder are spot on, there are subtle suggestions in this work that ultimately the trees will be fine regardless of what humans do and the environmentalists are portrayed as obsessed and pitiable. His novel Bewilderment offers a side of ableism along with environmental concerns. And his book Playground is a hideous love letter to AI and the visionary billionaire type…I also found it racist. He used to be a favorite author of mine until I realized that what was said and left unsaid meant that his work aligned with TESCREAL. And it’s saddened me deeply.

(tbh I've had some really *strong* criticisms of some of our bookclub reads...it's incredibly hard to find books that don't have some issues & solarpunk fiction in long form is almost non-existent...I'm working on changing that (with my novels)!
