Indeed, since COVID, #AI can now perform facial recognition in the presence of masks.

Yes let's all rejoice that nobody can escape surveillance anymore and the police have more power than ever to incarcerate people. I'm sure if we praise invasive spying technology enough, the police will realize how wrong they are and apologize for their hypocrisy, instead of just taking all the anonymity for themselves.
@cy All technological advances have both up and down side, of course. But if a technology is being used to erode freedom and that technology is also readily available for use in defending freedom, why not use it in a way that advances humanity instead.
