The water is painted in layers of lilac and and violet blue, in increasingly light tones as they eye moves up the picture. The Avocet is a distinctively-patterned black and white wader with a long up-curved beak. They are used as the emblem of the RSPB. Look for Avocets in coastal lagoons on the east coast in summer, and the Exe estuary come winter. An original art work, please note that the frame is not included.
