Three black panels with white text:

1 - Britain's Mandate to rule Palestine was unlawful

Britain unlawfully acted as an occupying power following the Balfour Declaration in 1917, giving itself the authority to rule the territory with a ‘Mandate’ that had no legal basis.

2 - Britain’s oppression of the Palestinian people was unlawful

Palestinians were subject to a widespread pattern of murder, torture, persecution and other inhumane acts under British rule from 1917 to 1948 – three decades of systemic breaches of the international law standards that applied at the time including repeated war crimes.

3 - Britain abandoned Palestine, having created the conditions for the country’s violent partition

Britain played a central role in the 1948 partition, ultimately shaping and enabling the divisions of today.
