I am a bit disappointed that neoclassical slowly drifting into contemporary classical.
In the beginning it seemed to be the multi-instrumentalists who used both electronica and acoustic sounds together that drove the rise of this genre; yet nowadays more artists labelled their work neoclassical (electro and classical) when they are more contemporary classical (acoustic only).

One thing I quite look forward to with Anna's Archive archiving the entire spotify catalogue is to use ML to decipher the genre labellings and get down to the data.
What's the BPM? Does it have any saxophone? Does it use a synth or a full orchestra?
It is time to stop arguing about the marketing terms and drill down to the numbers - something that record companies won't do because of the business incentives. It has to be a community project.
And unfortunately we won't be able to get the metal fans to stop "debating" what constitute metal, nor do we care.
