#KDE Linux, the KDE team’s immutable distro is getting closer to a new Beta. Personally I like more minimalist desktop environments like #Mate but I do see the appeal of KDE and appreciate all the innovation and great apps from the project.

I am a big fan of mate, however it has not been maintained since 2021 and has some noticeable flaws right now that nobody is there to fix.
@zaivala that is a shame. I am still using Mate on my main desktop but if development discontinues I will have to find something else to switch to. I am currently test driving Cosmic on CachyOS on an old Lenovo. I like Cosmic’s minimalist interface, but it too is buggy and not quite ready for a daily driver. Hopefully System76 can iron out the early wrinkles. I will have to keep an eye on it.

I am told that the closest thing to mate is cinnamon. I've tried it, I don't really like it, it just feels too much bells and whistles. I'm mostly using Moksha these days, but I also have something with Plasma just so I don't forget what that was like.
@zaivala I am not a fan of Cinnamon either.
