The amount of money Omarchy is getting is absolutely insane. The Python Foundation has an annual budget of around $5 million, the Apache Foundation around $3 million. Meanwhile a niche Linux distribution raised $18M in 20 days.
I worry that some people aren’t taking Omarchy seriously enough. It’s not just another Linux distro. It’s a well-orchestrated campaign to centralize power and influence within the Linux FOSS ecosystem. And it’s working.
Anyone paying attention to DHH and what he stands for can see what’s going on here. When the guy who thinks that brown people don’t belong in society hires the guy who thinks trans people shouldn’t exist, you can see where this is going.

They bought cheese, really good cheese, cheese I'd give as a gift, and they poured money on it.
They put the cheese on the table and stacked money on it. That cheese has more money than a dairy, more money than car ferries charge for return vists.
And no one is doing anything about the money on the cheese.
There are more distributions than users. Linux is air. Free to use. Even bad people breathe.
