As a parent and EU citizen, @EUCommission's take on age verification worries me:
- My insight: gatekeeping social media through ID-based age verification methods creates new privacy, security, and freedom-of-speech risks for ALL, but will fail protecting KIDS in any meaningful way.
- Why: 1/You underestimate the chilling effect an ID-verified internet will have on trade unionists, activists, whistleblowers, and more broadly on anyone who wants to share their views online.

@EUCommission Have you already fixed climate change, worked out how to provide homes for everyone who lives in the EU, sorted out good quality healthcare for everyone, ensured education to a high standard everywhere ?

I don't see anything in your list which is as important as these points, and I can easily make a longer list.

You can't be very proud of "protecting" children by actually excluding them and instituting awful internet ID controls on literally everyone in the union. We voted against this; you've gone against the popular will.

Stop with the AI garbage already. You must be aware how widely hated those huge, loud, resource-destroying datacenters are.
