fedi, generally speaking, seems to be rather hostile to (especially young) kids. I only know of a couple people with young kids on here but I think it could be worthwhile to have something like a parenting instance

My own experience is that I sometimes see frank discussion of the advantages of being child-free. Which is fine, in fact I’m keenly aware of those advantages!
I do recall a few posts of people complaining about children being annoying in public. A subset of those I’d describe as ignorant; but among all the ignorant things I read in a day, they’re pretty mild fare.

@slothrop @nathanlovestrees I'm a dad to two kids, and I know of other parents scattered around. Not everyone who's a parent mentions their children, or only occasionally, so it may not be obvious that they are parents. When I do, I use the parenting hashtag - which I also follow.
I don't know about a separate instance, but I have created a list of other parents I've seen about, even though a lot of their posts don't relate to their children.
