And if you’re management asking RUOK in a workplace, that follow through better include a readiness to offer workload and flexibility accomodations, not just telling people to see a professional (they may not be able to access or afford) or to do some mindfulness

Bit of an update about the Science Is Poetry project.
It's been a 24/7 siege from the crawlers since launch, unrelenting. However as of recently the datacenter hosting the dedicated server has without warning chosen to severely shape traffic right down to a crawl, effectively breaking the project. The sites are barely reachable.
As my contract with them states traffic is "unlimited", I'll be raising it with them and see where it leads.
I'd hoped to be able to share with you good news about an exhib of the Science Is Poetry project at a museum in Poland, in Oct.
I pulled out today, as the enormous artist contract, which asks for very personal information, is all stored at Office dot Com / M365. I lamented my relationship was to be with them, not via US tech giant.
They said they've no other way of holding the contract, & so that's that.
Greatly valued their transparency about it all. But nothing changes if we keep yielding.

I can‘t make up my mind what Star Trek to watch today. So I might watch „Galaxy Quest“ instead. Haven‘t seen that one in ages.
And no, absolute no, it‘s not the greatest Star Trek film. It is no Star Trek film. It is however a great film.

Going from having a working implementation of a feature to code we can merge often takes a long time. It can take months or even more than a year. It doesn't always work out. Sometimes we decide a feature ended up being too invasive or risky for other reasons and don't want to include it. We'll often do rewrites. Contributors need a full understanding of what they've submitted and need to be prepared to make substantial changes including fully rewriting it multiple times. AI slop isn't accepted.
We don't forbid using AI models for writing code but pull requests largely created that way will typically be rejected or skipped due to not meeting our requirements. It needs to be well written code which appears to be regular code written by a human regardless of the level of AI assistance involved in making it. It should not look like AI generated code. We do want to know if AI models are being used and how they're being used rather than people using it but not telling us they're using it.
