@JMMaok@mastodon.online I've never heard of this. This is fascinating though as I went to All Things Open 2025 and Raleigh had a booth there showing off their smart city tech. I'm attempting to contact them about the Fediverse, including NC having grants to getting citizens online.

This seems interesting though. I'm on Matrix, Signal, Discord, etc if you wanna reach out to me and we can talk about it. I'm personally interested in this, but yeah this seems ilke this would be a bit different than Fedi advocacy.

Reading the article though it definitely seems like there are trade offs. Knowing how that's used is also important. We educate ourselves. Love that. 😄

Having moved all of my Fireside Fedi interviews to Tube Free, @blenderdumbass@mastodon.online has been creating fun clips for me to upload. I've been doing this manually.

#Peertube has recommendations that you would like to see for their upcoming work.

If you want to see clipping built into Peertube, I sure do, you can upvote the idea here:

And of course check out Fireside Fedi at tubefree.org with all the new fun clips!

@JMMaok@mastodon.online Right now @eric@mastodon.eom.dev and I are working through the process. We're thinking Sir Walter Coffee. We know Triangle Toot Mastodon had one a few months ago at Tap Yard, so we'll try that if Sir Walter doesn't work out.

And I absolutely agree to being in person. I want something that catches people's attention that might not know about the Fediverse. They're just out and about and see it and it catches their interest. 😄

I agree we need more of this in the Triangle though and I'm going to attempt to participate more this coming year.

Myself and another are planning on hosting a meet up in a public restaurant. The meet up is about the Fediverse of course in downtown #Raleigh. I had thoughts of some kind of display to show off different projects around the Fediverse. Was thinking a projector and have a presentation or something showing off the different platforms. Has anyone done anything similar or have thoughts or suggestions?

Saw the Fediverse described as where elder millennial, Gen X and boomers go to retire from the internet, and immediately felt the peace that passes all understanding wash over me. None of have to struggle any longer. We completed our time.

There's a new Fediverse music streaming service showing music videos by small independent artists with their permission. You can view the channel at:

It's like the old-style MTV but for the Fediverse 🙂

You can follow the channel at:

The service runs on @owncast and you can find out more about OwnCast at:

MTV died. All the cool, unique artists like off “120 minutes” are now fighting the blandest algorithms imaginable.

We wanted a place to watch weird stuff you can’t see on mainstream channels. So….

Fedi MTV goes live in ONE HOUR.
