The solution to #Element spamming "X changed their display name to Y" seems to be: use #fluffychat
FluffyChat collapses all those system messages into one expandable 🙏
@liaizon you told me this ages ago I think. Element also keeps crashing recently... Are there any features missing from FluffyChat that makes it worth keeping element installed?
@douginamug I haven't been using fluffychat in a long while actually. Was mostly using Cinny more lately or not using matrix that much

@douginamug oh wow I didnt realize they sunsetted their desktop client lol. I am out of the loop. I was using both the web and desktop before but it looks like they stopped updating that ages ago now and I didnt realize
@douginamug if I remember correctly, in the chat settings has the option to disable it
@CleoMenezesJr hmm, I looked and couldn't find. Seems FluffyChat does it right.
