Day 21 - matcha bowl
I’ve only dabbled in ceramics but I’m thankful for the time I got to spend with it.
I hope to be able to return when I’m healthier enough to have a craft which involves time & clean up a bit more strictly.
Closer up view of the second coinage showing details in the glazes which are reflective and glassy on the outside. The inside glaze is more matte and has speckles of dark.
A slightly higher angle, and the cup is rotated. Looking into the cup, we can see that the interior is a warmer brown, which is almost a little rusty red brown The glaze that goes from brown to cyan is dipped slightly on the interior, making a small rim high up in the interior with a thin cyan ring close to the top. On the side, we can see some imperfections in the depth of the top layer of the glaze over the green on the outside, it is a beginners piece.
A low clay bowl which is a wide cylinder-ish shape held in a white person and wearing a compression glove with grippy dots. The base glaze is a light mossy lime, and green, which has a bamboo like texture pressed into the light clay. Above that is a dip glaze which fades from brown to cyan, kind of resembling seafoam in texture, especially at the cyan, where it is somewhat bubbly, and has lots of particulate dots. At the top of the cup, you can see the green through the glaze. The cyan is opaque. In the background is a Monstera plant.
