There is nothing being "looked into" here. This is simply a coverup-spin disguised as a "civil rights" investigation--adding that essential MAGA dash of insult to the corruption.
I fear that this Civil Rights Division will find that Pretti violated the rights of the officers who shot him.
The AP needs another headline writer. As you pointed out, Todd Blanche only *said* that DoJ had opened an investigation. I suspect that's being done in the same way that shuttering an entire agency except for one person at the front desk is not shuttering an agency.
Well, that probe will last about as long as it takes to get the Democratic senators to sign at the dotted line for the appropriations bills without meaningful hindrances to ICE's primary goal of sowing terror. Or alternatively it will run for three years without producing any result or a little wrist slap for letting yourself be filmed. The chain of evidence has already been thoroughly destroyed anyway.

#Trump’s characterization of the Jan 13 video is ridiculous especially given his #Jan6 #pardons.
The agents on Jan 13 didn’t even give Pretti a citation, or get his name. It is highly unlikely that on Jan 24 they knew he was the same person. Anyway it’s completely irrelevant since it was an entirely separate incident.
