Attended branch meetings (for most parties), and the worst element I encountered in Labor were the suits who showed up irregularly with only one interest - preselection. Not policy. Not party performance. Preselection, namely their own. Uncharismatic, committent free slimes with the dress and demeanour of a real estate agent.

I think there are strong arguments either way on whether you can reform from within or whether you're just running cover and it all needs to be torn down and reset.
For my money I reckon it's better she's in government than outside it, but this experience must be maddening, and is an argument for the latter.
Having said and to be fair, I have met more than a few Labor 'true believers' who walk the talk.
