@FediTips I'm surprised at the "today" in your post - it's 05:40 here in #Aotearoa, not too many other places on the planet where it's already the 25th - are you based in tha "prisoner island hidden in the summer for a million years"? 😀

@FediTips@social.growyourown.services wow really? I didn't know that. Can I ask WHY? Like is the 25th still Xmas, but you do everything on Xmas Eve? Or is Christmas literally the 24th?

@ozoned It's like New Year's Eve is celebrated more than New Year's Day 🙂

It's not every country, but a lot of countries celebrate on 24th while some celebrate on 25th.

I think it's 25th in America because it inherited that tradition from its British colonial days? The UK celebrates on 25th.

@FediTips@social.growyourown.services @ronsboy67@mas.to @MAJ1@beige.party I think the bigger celebratory day is the 25th, yes. Super interesting to learn. Thank you for sharing!

@ronsboy67

The idea is a bit like a new year, people celebrate it on the eve rather than the day itself 🙂

@FediTips Interesting, thanks. I don't celebrate it myself, so my gift to my colleagues is to work on the day so they can celebrate
