It's not every country, but a lot of countries celebrate on 24th while some celebrate on 25th.
I think it's 25th in America because it inherited that tradition from its British colonial days? The UK celebrates on 25th.

Not sure what to do about local CBS affiliate news feeds, can any Americans advise on the relationship between an affiliate and a network? (AFAIK there is nothing similar to affiliates here in Europe.)
@FediThing@social.chinwag.org Affiliates get their marching orders from the network. While the local news folks could use their voice, they won't. The nightly news in the US is a joke. See the special cut of the EXACT SAME script being used by numerous affiliates.
