Q1. Where are you posting from today? It's a holiday #BikeNite, the last of the year, so it might be a little lighter. Are you somewhere different than usual? How are you doing?
#BikeNite A1. Ventura County, California. Slogging through the holidays and family obligations. Not too bad this year, but... spending time with people (even family... or particularly family?) isn't the highest thing on anyone's list, lol. A little bit, in moderation is great. Maybe I'm just a wee bit anti-social. 🤪
@Willow There may be something to be said for the ability to schedule your personal prime for a time of life in which you're mature enough to appreciate it.
Only one of my older siblings is still alive. She is the closest to me in age but still seven years older. We have become closer since 2016 when she ended up being the political opposite of most of her friends and family. So, I'm what's left.
When we were kids she was the people pleaser. The kid that all the adults loved.
I was not.
She says I was defiant as a child that I didn't make life easy for our parents.
Probably all true.
My mother was exasperated with my inability to stay clean or in her words act like a girl.
Even though we are opposite in almost all things I love her and try to help her feel less alone. I live in a different state but help financially as I can and call her everyday.
I sometimes wonder why she didn't plan, even a little, for her old age. She tells me that she knew God would provide.
Just in case God is busy I sent Instacart again and sure enough she immediately let me know that God provided.
It made me smile.
